Dr Tim Harris

Surgical Assistant

Dr. Tim Harris has been working as a full time orthopaedic surgical assistant since 2003. He assists a select few of Melbourne and Geelong’s most preeminent orthopaedic surgeons at well over 1000 orthopaedic operations annually. Due to his dedicated work, Tim has amassed an enormous amount of experience and is very highly respected within the orthopaedic community.

 

Tim is passionate about continued education and continues to develop his knowledge around new orthopaedic products and techniques as they come onto the market. He has recently participated in a series of European workshops focusing mainly on newer techniques in joint replacement of the hip and knee, revision joint replacement, and ACL reconstruction. 

 

Tim has been assisting Matt Barnes since 2017, and is an integral part of the surgical team. Tim's primary role is to increase the safety and efficiency of all operations, but also acts as an important patient advocate, advising and teaching the surgical team, where appropriate, to ensure the best outcome for all patients under his care. With Tim involved in your operation, rest assured, you're in safe hands.

 

Outside of surgery, Tim has also developed interests in the field of information and technology and business management. He is the owner / director of a medical based IT company, Surgeonline Pty. Ltd., that provides an online business portal to over 6000 surgeons and surgical assistants nation-wide.

 

Tim has two beautiful daughters that are the apple of his eye and most of his spare time is dedicated to their happiness and development.

 

 

Dr Michael Rattray

Anaesthetist

Dr Michael Rattray is a fully qualified specialist anaesthetist. Michael graduated from medicine at the University of Newcastle in 2006, prior to completing his specialist anaesthesia training at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne in 2014. He obtained his Anaesthetic Fellowship from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2015

 

Michael undertook a year of clinical fellowship at Monash Medical Centre, and The Royal Women’s Hospital in 2014, gaining experience in high-risk obstetric anaesthesia. He has subspecialty interests in obstetric, bariatric, ophthalmic, orthopaedic and regional anaesthesia.

 

Michael enjoys teaching anaesthetic trainees, and helping them to prepare for their fellowship exams. Michael has also been able to use his medical skills as a volunteer in Mannya, Uganda.

 

Outside of work Michael enjoys spending time with his three young children. He is a keen fly fisher and golfer.

Dr Frank Parker

Anaesthetist

Dr Frank Parker studied undergraduate medicine at the University of Tasmania before commencing his anaesthetic training through the Austin and Northern Hospitals. He obtained his anaesthetic fellowship from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2017.

Frank holds public appointments at the Northern Hospital and the Mercy Hospital for Women. His special interests include orthopaedic, high risk obstetric and urological surgery.

Away from work Frank is kept busy with his 3 young daughters, he enjoys cycling and is a Western Bulldogs tragic.

 

 

Gabriella Bottarelli

Practice Manager

Gabriella joined our team as Practise Manager in 2019 and has been fundamental to the daily business operations. Having extensive experience in management, Gabriella brings a great sense of structure and professionalism to the practice.
